Welcome to Turks Head Exeter

Right in the heart of Exeter city centre, the Turks Head Exeter has been serving pints, stories and unforgettable moments for over 700 years. As one of the region’s oldest pubs, our historic walls have seen centuries of local life unfold – and, legend has it, even welcomed Charles Dickens for a drink or two.

Today, Turks Head is known as Exeter’s ultimate sports pub. With 7 big screens, Sky Sports, and TNT Sports, we show every major fixture live – from Premier League football and Six Nations rugby to Formula 1, boxing and more. If it’s worth watching, you’ll find it here.

We’re also proud to be one of Exeter’s few micro breweries, with every pint brewed right here onsite. From our legendary Fat Boy IPA to an ever-changing line-up of seasonal favourites, every beer is expertly crafted by our Head Brewer, Tilly, using passion, creativity and the finest ingredients.

Whether you’re joining us for live sport, freshly brewed craft beer, or simply soaking up the atmosphere of a truly historic pub in Exeter, Turks Head is a place where old stories meet new traditions.

Our Microbrewery

Brewing since 2021, in our very own in-house microbrewery, led by our Head Brewer Tilly.

You’ll find our beers pouring across both bars, including our flagship IPA, Fat Boy—one of our very first brews and now a true cult favourite.

Not sure what to go for? Go for a tasting board of three beers and work your way through them at your own pace—sip, savour, repeat.

Where Exeter Watches the World Cup

This is where it gets loud. Exeter’s football HQ – packed with energy, noise, and every moment live across 7 big screens. No missed goals, just wall-to-wall football in the heart of Exeter High Street.

And while the football does the talking, our house-brewed beers keep things flowing. Fresh from our in-house microbrewery, brewed on-site and served at their absolute best – including our legendary Fat Boy IPA.
