Freshly Brewed Craft Beer in Exeter

Craft beer lovers, you’re in the right place.

Since 2021, we’ve been brewing fresh, small-batch craft beer in our very own Exeter micro brewery, tucked away right here at Turks Head and led by our Brewer Tilly. The result? Properly fresh pints brewed just metres from where you’re drinking them (it doesn’t get much more local than that).

You’ll find our beers pouring across both bars, from limited seasonal brews to our flagship IPA, Fat Boy – one of our very first creations and now something of a cult favourite. Bold, hoppy and seriously drinkable, it’s earned itself quite the following.

Can’t decide? (We don’t blame you.) Go for a tasting board of three beers and take your tastebuds on a little tour of the brewery – no beer expertise required, just good judgement.

What’s Brewing

Currently causing a stir at the bar: Black Lagoon Nitro Stout (4.2%) – named after the old sci-fi comic creature and brewed for those who like their dark beers with a little drama.

Brewed in our in-house Exeter micro brewery, this velvety nitro stout layers aromas of brandy snap baskets, gooey chocolate brownie and toasted vanilla, with notes of chocolate, coffee and a super smooth, creamy finish. Brewed with pale ale malt and crystal malts, it’s rich, indulgent and dangerously easy-drinking.

Like all good things lurking beneath the surface, it won’t be around forever – so catch it while it’s pouring.
