Our bedrooms are tucked away within our ever-so charming Grade II listed pub. Because of our building’s historic nature, all rooms are accessed via a number of small, steep staircases.

Unfortunately, this means our bedrooms aren’t wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. If you have any questions before booking, please get in touch and our team will be happy to help.

Our bedrooms are best suited to couples and solo travellers, so we don’t have dedicated family rooms.

If you’re travelling with children, we’d recommend our friends at City Gate Exeter, just a short walk away. They offer a range of family-friendly bedrooms with space for cots and fold-out beds, making them a great base for families exploring Exeter.

Our bedrooms don’t have air conditioning, but each room is well ventilated and fans are available to help keep you comfortable during warmer weather.

Being right in the heart of Exeter has plenty of perks, but it does mean you may hear a little of the city, particularly on weekends and during busy events.

Our cosy bedrooms sit above our historic pub on the High Street, so some background noise is to be expected. To help you enjoy a restful night’s sleep, our front-facing rooms have been fitted with secondary glazing and noise-reducing blackout curtains, helping to minimise street noise.

For guests who are particularly light sleepers, complimentary earplugs are provided in every room, so you can settle in for the best night’s sleep possible.

We don’t serve breakfast at the Turks Head, but don’t worry—we’ve got a brilliant recommendation.

Our friends at City Gate Exeter, just a short walk away, serve a fantastic breakfast every morning. As a Turks Head guest, you can enjoy a special rate of £15 per person, which includes one hot breakfast dish from the menu, plus access to the breakfast buffet with pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, tea and coffee.

We think two nights is just about perfect. It gives you plenty of time to explore Exeter’s historic streets, discover independent shops, visit the cathedral, enjoy the city’s fantastic food and drink scene, and still have time to relax with us.

Only staying for one night? You’ll have a brilliant time, but don’t be surprised if you’re already planning your next visit before you’ve checked out.

Check-in is from 3pm, with check-out by 11am.

Arriving early? If your room isn’t quite ready, make yourself at home in the pub with a bite to eat or sample one of our beers brewed in our onsite microbrewery.

If you’d rather head straight out to explore, we’ll happily look after your luggage until your room is ready.

We don’t have our own car park (we’re just a little too central for that), but there are several public car parks just a short walk away.

The closest options are Mary Arches Street Car Park (around a 5-minute walk) and Guildhall Shopping Centre Car Park (approximately a 6-minute walk), making it easy to park before exploring Exeter on foot.

Exeter Central Station is our nearest railway station and is just a 7-minute walk away.

If you’re arriving at Exeter St David’s Station, we’re around a 5-minute taxi ride away, or approximately a 13-minute walk down St David’s Hill towards Iron Bridge.

Several local bus routes also stop within a few minutes’ walk of the pub, making us easy to reach from across the city and beyond.

We know plans can change, so most of our rates are flexible.

You can cancel or amend your booking up until 12pm the day before your arrival. If you cancel after this time, or don’t arrive for your stay, the first night’s accommodation will be charged.
